Pediatrics Part I

Learning Objectives

  1. To share with chiropractors the latest statistics of the health issues facing adults and children today. How we as chiropractors can help our patients avoid becoming a statistic by staying healthy through better choices and chiropractic care.

  1. Inform chiropractors on the latest issues and concerns on vaccines. How to educate our patients to make an informed choice.

  1. To review the case management of: Autism, Inflammatory issues, obesity and providing alternative nutritional and biomedical protocols.

  1. General Anatomy review.  The neurological and physiological benefits of the chiropractic adjustment.

  1. How to apply adjusting techniques for special needs children and hard to treat cases immediately into their practice.

 

Technique

  1. To better understand the risk of a chiropractic cervical adjustment and stroke, which allows a comprehensive explanation to the patient. To understand the proper biomechanics of the cervical spine to insure maximal patient safety.

  1. Adjustment protocols and adjusting tips for special needs children. Diversified.

Ø  Traditional drug therapy is reviewed with side effects revealed and alternative chiropractic management with.

Ø   Special needs children in your practice. Autism statistics.

Hours 3-4

Ø  Biomedical protocols; testing, diet and nutrition protocols given.

Ø  Complementary therapies. methods to implement these factors into chiropractic practice and the patient’s daily life.

Ø  Case studies

Hours 5-6

Ø  Vaccines- Brief history of vaccines. Vaccines schedule of the past vs. today.

Ø  Statistical data and morbidity & mortality rates.

Ø  Pros and cons for vaccines. Ingredients of vaccines.

Ø  Inflammation- is it a leading cause behind many disease processes, autoimmune disorders?

Ø  Autism debate. Is there a link between vaccines and autism?  

Ø  Demonstration and application of chiropractic adjustments using Diversified and Drop Table techniques. Special techniques to “prepare” the patient for the adjustment are shown for full spine and the extremities.

Ø  Wide variety of special adjustments for unusual or difficult cases are shown

 

Pediatrics Part II

Learning Objectives

 

1.  Techniques, case management and evidenced based practice for pregnancy, birth and infancy. Hands on demonstrations and application of specific adjusting techniques in pregnancy with biomechanics of the female pelvis.

2.  Common disorders in pregnancy and the chiropractic co-management with other birth care providers. Safety, efficacy and contraindications.

 

3. Caring for the pregnant patient from the beginning to birth.  How birth injuries may occur and the chiropractors role in caring for children with birth injuries, torticollis. When to know to refer out.

 

4. Managing scoliosis, the febrile child and the challenged child.

 

5. How to apply adjusting techniques for special needs children and hard to treat cases immediately into their practice.

7. Adjustment protocols and adjusting tips for the pregnant patient. Motion palpation, Diversified, Activator, Drop Table.

Professional Overview…

Dr. Rochelle Neally is a practicing Chiropractor with over 9 years of experience.  Her chiropractic practice focuses on acute and rehabilitative care for adults and children.  Treatment includes physical therapy, exercise therapy for rehabilitation of spinal injuries and chiropractic manipulative techniques.  She uses the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy chamber in her office.  HBOT is a specialized therapy that uses an increase in atmospheric pressure to allow the body to incorporate more oxygen into blood cells, blood plasma, cerebral spinal fluid and other body fluids.  Dr. Neally dedicates her career to caring for children with special needs specializing in Autism and ADD/ADHD.  She partners with her patients and their families using a combination of education, advocacy and attentive treatments.  She utilizes the Webster technique to care for pregnant women in easing the birthing process.  She helps raise funds for the families of children at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.  Dr. Neally talents not only exist in the clinical sense but in her approach to her patients and their families.  Dr. Neally is a well respected caring Chiropractor.
